JV «CASPI BITUM» LLP - the largest producer of road bitumen in the Republic of Kazakhstan
Aktau bitumen plant was built as part of the state program to boost industrial and innovative development of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the instruction of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. A. Nazarbayev no. 735 dated February 5, 2007 to organise production of road bitumen in Kazakhstan.

- joint venture CASPI BITUM JV LLP was established.The founders are KazakhstanPetrochemicalIndustries, Kazakhstan (50%) and CITICKazakhstan LLP, PRC (50%)

June 2010
- EPC contract is signed for the construction of the bitumen plant in Aktau

2010-2013
- the period of construction of the plant

December 12, 2013
- the Act of Commissioning of the bitumen plant is signed by the state acceptance committee

December 20, 2013
- the official ceremony of the bitumen plant start-up is held with participation of the Chief of State N. A. Nazarbayev as part of Kazakhstan Industrialization Map. The first batch of road bitumen was produced

Since June 15, 2018
- the founders of CASPI BITUM JV LLP are KazMunayGas NC JSC (50%) and CITICKazakhstan LLP (50%)
